Staycation overview

Escape to the Yorkshire Dales in autumn this year to experience the delights of The Yorke Arms. Formerly an 18th century coaching inn, the property offers luxury accommodation, beautiful gardens, stunning scenery, and delicious food, all cooked by M.

Come and stay with us for three nights, enjoy the best of Yorkshire produce at every meal and do as much or as little as you like.

On Thursday 27th and Friday 28th, join Dean Bolton-Grant, founder of The Northern School of Gardening, as he delivers two days of gardening, both theoretical and practical elements, and get hands on in the glorious kitchen garden. With a career immersed in palace gardens, Michelin-starred kitchen gardens and lovingly designing and tending to gardens worldwide for over twenty years, Dean has always enjoyed sharing his knowledge and love of gardening. His mission is to give people the knowledge and confidence they need to create and enjoy their own green spaces.

You can explore this beautiful part of Nidderdale at your leisure, and self-guided walks will be provided for those who would like to venture further afield.

This staycation offers the finest of everything the Yorkshire Dales has to offer – book your place and let us take care of everything else.

You can look forward to…

All your meals joyfully prepared by M. Proper breakfasts, with daily cooked options, two-course lunches and three course dinners. We will serve pre-dinner drinks, wine with dinner (or beer if your prefer!) and there will always be something to nibble on if you’re feeling peckish! There will also be a couple of cooking demonstrations for those who would like to expand their culinary knowledge.

The Gardening days will give guests the opportunity to join Dean from 10am until 3.30pm, to get to grips with the stunning gardens of The Yorke Arms:

M will offer cooking demonstrations late afternoon for anyone who’d like to expand their culinary skills – these will be very relaxed sessions and you are welcome to request specific skills or ingredients you’d like to know more about. We will also work with produce from the Kitchen Gardens.

We are providing 12 individually designed rooms and suites. Each has been meticulously appointed with comfortable and welcoming furnishings, as well as some little quirks that are unique to each room. All the bedrooms are fully equipped for convenience and comfort. This includes tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer, WiFi, TV with freeview channels, luxurious bathrobes and fluffy towels, as well as complimentary toiletries. Every bedroom has a mini bar which will contain complimentary still and sparkling water.

All bedrooms and suites are king or super-king size and have a private bathroom, with either shower or a bath, some have both. If you would like to have your room as a twin (two singles) please let me know in advance, as it is not possible in every bedroom.

Self-guided walks

The Yorke Arms sits on the Nidderdale Way – a 53 mile walk through the wonderful landscape of Nidderdale Ares of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are abundant footpaths close to the village of Ramsgill, and we can suggest varying lengths of walks if you would like to explore a little further afield.

You won’t forget how these experiences made you feel…
